Preparation

- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mix, blending until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serving
- Dust with powdered sugar or serve with fresh fruit as desired.
Notes
For best results, use fresh ricotta and avoid overmixing the batter. To enhance flavor, add a teaspoon of orange or lemon zest.
